Jongla, a Finnish cross-platform instant messaging app developer, has secured a new round of funding of €3.4 million. Investors include JSH Capital, Ingman Finance, Kontino Invest and Holdington. The fresh funds will be used to help scale the company globally and enter new markets. Jongla is also looking to grow its team.

Founded in 2009, Jongla´s instant messaging app offers free communication on iOS, Android, Windows Phone and Firefox. It offers features including interactive stickers, push-to-talk messaging, photo and video sharing, and YouTube integration. Last month, Jongla launched ‘Channels’, a way for brands and celebrities to engage with fans. Each brand can create a multimedia channel and start interacting with fans and customers. Users can follow and access exclusive new content.

This latest funding round takes the overall investment in Jongla to €7.3 million.
