Syrus Madavi joins board of directors of CoreOptics Inc.

Manchester NH/San Jose, CA, USA and Nuremberg, Germany June 2, 2008 -- CoreOptics Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of 10/40/100 Gbps optical networking subsystems, today announced that Syrus P. Madavi has joined the company’s Board of Directors.

Mr. Madavi’s 30 year career has included terms as Chairman, President and CEO of Burr-Brown Corporation, President and Chief Operating Officer of JDS Uniphase, Senior Vice President of Texas Instruments, President of Raytheon Semiconductor, and Vice President, GM of Honeywell Signal Processing Technology.

Under Mr. Madavi’s leadership as Chairman, President and CEO of Burr-Brown Corporation, a semiconductor company focused on high-performance analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits, the company’s valuation increased significantly and Texas Instruments acquired the company for over $7 billion. At Texas Instruments, Mr. Madavi was the Senior Vice President of the high performance signal processing business sector. This business with over $1 billion in revenue, offered power management, analog, mixed-signal, and DSP integrated circuits for digital consumer, personal computing, and communications markets.

Madavi has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a Masters of Science degree in Computer Science, both from Stevens Institute of Technology, and an MBA in Finance from the University of California Los Angeles.
