AlertMe.com launches starter kit
Entry price now reduced to only £149

Now AlertMe is affordable for everyone, with a Pay-as-you-go pricing model.

Ideal for students, young professionals, renters, elderly or anyone looking to protect their home and more

Cambridge: 15th July 2008: AlertMe.com, Europe's pioneer in intelligent home safety and security, today announced it has launched a 'Starter Kit' which dramatically reduces the entry cost of the AlertMe system. Target customers include people in one or two bedroom houses and flats looking to protect their home at a fraction of the cost of a traditional burglar alarm system.

The traditional burglar alarm has not changed in years. It's expensive to install, expensive to run and awkward to use. Neighbours are disturbed by false alarms, and the home-owner is often the last to know when there's a problem. Perhaps for these reasons, according to a recent survey of 1000 people, almost 50% of those with traditional alarms don't use them. As a result, many people are not adequately protecting their home, family and belongings.

The Starter Kit available directly from AlertMe.com is priced at 149 inc. VAT and consists of a simple hub , keyfob and motion sensor, ideal to monitor a small flat or rented room. Easy to set up and priced on a pay-as-you model, the Starter Kit offers complete flexibility to users, and is expandable. If anything occurs in the home, AlertMe immediately notifies the owner and anyone else who needs to be told on their phone by text message. The system can detects break-ins, measures the temperature of rooms, and can also notify when people come home for peace of mind. It is easy to use a simple keyfob arms and disarms the system, just like a car alarm. Purchasing additional low-cost accessories expands the system to add such features such as the ability to detect smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.

Adrian Critchlow, Co-founder of AlertMe comments: 'Home security and monitoring has been one of the few areas that has not kept pace with changes in technology. Traditional systems remain expensive and awkward to install and manage. AlertMe has pioneered changes in this space and we are delighted to offer a platform that is easy to use and reasonably priced. The Starter Kit will enable people living alone to protect their homes without great expense.'
