Octopus Intermediate Capital shores up its investment team
Deal flow drives growth for Octopus team

Octopus Investments Ltd (“Octopus”), one of the UK’s fastest growing alternative investment specialists, today announces the appointment of Matthew Setchell as Investment Manager, with immediate effect. Reporting directly to Stuart Nicol, Director of Intermediate Capital, Matt, 31, will be tasked with sourcing, selecting and structuring new deals and managing investments through to exit. His appointment significantly strengthens the investment management potential of the Octopus Intermediate Capital management team.

Prior to joining Octopus, Matt spent over three years at Shore Capital (2005 - 2008) as an Investment Manager, focusing on the Puma VCT range. During this time he led numerous asset backed and mezzanine deals including transactions within the hotel, leisure and construction sectors. Prior to joining Shore Capital, Matt spent over five years working as a manager within PwC’s advisory team (2000 - 2005). During this time he completed an MBA, sponsored by PwC, at Cambridge University (2003 - 3004).
