Bac2 appoints business development manager for Europe

Southampton, UK, November 07, 2008: Fuel cell materials company, Bac2, has appointed Sorrel Forsey-Anderson as business development manager, Europe. The company has been expanding its European customer base for fuel cell bipolar plates made from ElectroPhen, its patented conductive polymer, as market demand accelerates.

Bac2’s CEO, Mike Stannard, commented, “Just over half of our identified prospects are in Europe and we are seeing the fuel cell market move into volume production here. One company alone has now shipped over 10,000 fuel cells and that’s only a tiny proportion of the small niche market that they address. The growth potential is staggering and we are determined to ensure that our early customers receive the highest standards of support. Sorrel’s appointment is a key part of that strategy.”

Forsey-Anderson comes to Bac2 from Voller Energy, a fuel cell systems manufacturer, where she was international distributor sales manager. She previously worked in electronic component distribution and electronics contract manufacturing, so has a strong background in technology businesses.

Editors’ notes

Bac2 Ltd

Bac2 is the developer of ElectroPhen™, an electrically conductive plastic that will make a significant contribution to the early adoption of clean energy from fuel cell stacks. Fuel cells are technically proven sources of clean energy for our planet, but adoption is presently limited by cost. Bac2 is in the process of developing ElectroPhen™ commercially and has patents pending in Europe, America and Japan. ElectroPhen™ is made from readily available low-cost constituents, can be pressed or moulded to complex shapes, and is robust enough for harsh environments. By comparison, competitors produce composite plates using electrically insulating resins to bind together conductive particles such as graphite. In addition to its role in fuel cells, Bac2 will find an increasingly wide range of applications for ElectroPhen in electrical and electronic industries.
