RFI Engineering Appoints Two New Directors

Almere, December 8, 2009

RFI Engineering, a leading manufacturer of smart data solutions for the M2M market, today announced that Frank Koopman, Chairman and CEO of Gatix, and Jacques Kemp, former CEO Insurance Asia/Pacific of ING, have been appointed on RFI Engineering’s board of directors.

The new board of directors intends to work closely with the current management team to build on the accomplishments that have been achieved during the past 2 years and to help RFI Engineering strengthen its position.

'We are very pleased to have Frank Koopman and Jacques Kemp joining the RFI Engineering board of directors,' said Peter Calis, CEO of RFI Engineering. 'Frank is a successful strategist and pioneer in the networking industry and Jacques brings considerable strategic business and financial experience that will assist us going forward. Their guidance will considerably enrich the board and the running of our business at a time when RFI Engineering is strengthening its position as fast growing technology leader of programmable data routers and remote management accessories.'

In addition to his new strategic role at RFI Engineering, Frank also holds the position of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Gatix (4G gateway servers) and Chairman of the Board of Octo-Wireless (wireless networking equipment). He was Chief Executive Officer of Hopling Technologies and Hopling Networks from 2003 through Augustus 2009, Chief Executive Officer of UMX Technologies from 2002 through July 2004 and Managing Director of Global Crossing from 1999 through March 2002. Earlier in his career, he worked for several years in various senior executive management positions at Vicorp and Datapoint Corporation. In addition he served as a member of the European board and Vice President sales & marketing for Vicorp Europe.

Jacques was up to recently Vice Chairman of ING Asia/Pacific for Insurance & Investments. From 2002-2008 he was CEO of ING Asia/Pacific Insurance based in Hong Kong. From 1999 to 2001 he was Global Head of E-Business, and responsible for ING’s strategy on web-based financial services worldwide. After the purchase of Barings Bank in 1995, Jacques Kemp became a member of the Executive Committee of ING Barings. In the late 1990s, Jacques was involved in the start-up of ING Direct. Under his leadership ING acquired major stakes in banks like Bank Slaski, Poland, Bank of Beijing, China and in PayPal, the leading e-payment provider. Presently he is a non-executive board member of various companies, including KB Financial Group, Korea. Jacques has started his own consultancy bureau ToBecome to support the strategy of multinationals.

'The appointment of Frank and Jacques adds another layer of diversity and experience to RFI Engineering’s board of seasoned business leaders,' said Peter Calis, Chief Executive Officer of RFI Engineering. 'We believe the board, coupled with a strong management team and highly-skilled employees, will enable RFI Engineering to be a strong factor in the success both in the region and throughout the world.'
