Speakanet Virtual Mobile PBX Solution opens Enterprise Market

Cannes, France, 15 February 2005: Speakanet, the leading provider of OSA/Parlay virtual PBX products, today announced the Speakanet vPBX M3000. M3000 is a complement to the Speakanet vPBX M5000 - the enterprise integrated vPBX.

With the Speakanet vPBX (virtual Private Branch Exchange) M3000, operators can promote a complete voice solution to enterprise customers replacing existing fixed-line PBX services. While to the SME market, the vPBX allows mobile operators to become the de-facto voice solution. Enterprises will receive the same service for mobile users as a traditional PBX system provides for fixed line users. Using an open platform design based on OSA/Parlay, the M3000 can work with GSM, IMS, SIP, 3G, VoIP and PSTN.

When using the M3000, switchboard operators can use a Windows type application to see the mobile phone status of all employees. The switchboard operator has an all-in-one view of any employee's ability to take a call, even if the employee is out of the office. Using the M3000, the switchboard operator can take and send messages or transfer calls to an available colleague's mobile phone.

Demonstrations of Speakanet's vPBX products will be held throughout the week at the 3GSM Congress in Cannes, including on the Microsoft stand (Hall 1, Stand A14). Speakanet has developed an integration between Live Communication Server 2005 (LCS) and Speakanet's vPBX to demonstrate the first mobile integration of the LCS. The LCS is Microsoft's enterprise instant-messaging and presence-enabling platform and demonstrations will be held all week on the Microsoft stand. Other Speakanet vPBX demonstrations at this year's 3GSM will be held by Hewlett-Packard (Hall 1, Stand A10), AePONA (Hall 2, Stand F63), Appium (Hall 2, Stand G40) and Speakanet (Hall 2, Stand F52).

Speakanet currently works with a number of leading network operators including Sonofon, Orange, TDC and Telia to provide them with a complete offering to their enterprise customers.

'Speakanet has helped Sonofon to offer very competitive packages to our enterprise customers,' said Michael Løytved, Business Manager Corporate at Sonofon. Michael Løytved continued, 'We have seen the number of SIM cards we provide go up 200% in the enterprise partners that use the vPBX.'

To offer the vPBX M3000, the Mobile Network Operator installs the vPBX as a standard OSA/Parlay application. The enterprise then opens the switchboard as a standard Windows server application. Once the vPBX is set up, enterprise users simply use a mobile phone to receive all in-bound calls to the main company number.

Erik Bartholin, Procurement Manager at The Danish Home Guard said, 'By using the vPBX we have more of our staff on mobile phones and whether they are in the office or not, our switchboard can easily transfer calls to them without it costing us a fortune.'

'We feel the Speakanet vPBX M3000 represents a break-through in how mobile service providers target the enterprise market,' said Arne Winther, CEO at Speakanet. 'GSM operators can offer a complete voice solution to their enterprise customers and be even more competitive against fixed line operators. Costs, both fixed and operational, are a fraction of those for a traditional PBX. All the enterprise needs is an internet connection and, of course, mobile phones for their employees.'
