TynTec Signs Second Global Operator Hub
Digicel Jamaica partnership gives TynTec the world's first dual operator access

TynTec, the enterprise quality SMS operator for corporates, today announces the signing of a deal with Digicel Jamaica, Jamaica's leading mobile network operator, to use its deep level access into the global mobile network. Under the deal, TynTec will become the first third-party SMS service provider to control two points of direct access into operator networks. By using Digicel Jamaica's roaming relationships, TynTec will be able to offer its corporate customers direct access to more than 260 operators worldwide.

TynTec leverages its relationships with mobile operators to offer corporates enterprise quality SMS. TynTec's deep level access to the global mobile network (known as SS7) means that it can offer secure, rapid and reliable messaging services through one single interface worldwide. In addition, this also means that enterprises can access rich data from their SMS communications, such as delivery receipts and information on the status and location of the receiving phone through one single provider.

The deal with Digicel Jamaica, alongside its existing relationship with Manx Telecom, makes TynTec the first SMS platform provider to control two points of access into the deep level network infrastructure. This offers corporates significant advantages:
Resilience: with two entry points, messages can be re-routed in the case of failure of one
Cost:with two sets of operator relationships, the most economical route to a particular operator can be chosen
Coverage: Each operator in TynTec's portfolio has roaming agreements with a different selection of operators globally. This means that TynTec can now offer a substantially increased global coverage portfolio to its clients
Geography: SMS messages can be filed into the global telecoms backbone network at the nearest point to their destination, minimizing delays and delivery failures
Standards: with a European and a US Hub, both main GSM standards (ETSI and ANSI) are covered, sending messages in the standard of the destination network, avoiding errors in the conversion of messages.

Michael Kowalzik, Managing Director of TynTec, said: 'This deal underlines our wider strategy of putting in place a select portfolio of operator relationships to complete our existing Quality of Service-offering in terms of the coverage and resilience. Our multiple operator relationships are unique in the marketplace and our single minded focus on going direct into the SS7 world mean that we can offer corporates a truly enterprise quality SMS platform for the very first time.'

Ralf Ohlhausen, Group Products Director of Digicel, said, “Our relationship with TynTec allows us to expand on our mobile data and mobile messaging capabilities, strengthens our offerings to corporate customers and brings our business to new markets beyond the Caribbean”.
