Tribold, Capgemini and TeleManagement at Billing Systems Show 2006
Tutorial to demonstrate value of introducing automated product lifecycle management

Billing Systems 2006
Olympia 2, London
June 7-9, 2006
Stand C10
Tutorial Three: 7 June, 14:30-16:00

London, 31 May, 2006 – A joint tutorial hosted by Tribold, the UK-based product lifecycle management software applications provider, Capgemini and the Chairman of the TeleManagement Forum at Billing Systems 2006 will highlight why antiquated product management is crippling the telecoms industry and how this trend can be reversed.

Tribold Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Catherine Michel, will share the stage with TeleManagement Forum Chairman, Keith Willetts and Stuart Clelland, Sector Consulting Architect at Capgemini, to discuss the transformation of product management.

Many communications service providers today are handicapped by their inability to quickly turn new product and service innovations into customer offerings because of the complex way in which products are managed. Each new product or innovation typically goes through a lengthy manual process of system and network enablement before it becomes available for customer use.

“Primitive management processes can no longer support profitable products. As communications services providers increasingly become retailers and therefore need a 360-degree view of their products from inception to retirement,” said Michel. “Billing Systems offers us the ideal platform to illustrate how the telecoms industry can move to a far more efficient product and data lifecycle management environment.”

Keith Willetts said that telecoms service providers had taken their eye off the ball when it came to product management. “Due to the competitive nature of the telecoms industry, communications services providers (CSPs) have become too focused on new products at the expense of billing and operations systems support,” he warned. “These CSPs must move towards automated product and data lifecycle management or business with their customers will spiral out of control.”

“Bringing products and services to market quickly and efficiently will become a key competitive battleground and automated product life cycle management will move from being optional to essential,” added Stuart Clelland. “This tutorial will highlight the options, best practices and challenges involved in Telco product management transformation, and therefore is a valuable session for all CSPs to attend”.

Michel, Willetts and Clelland will present in the session entitled ’Transforming Telco Product Management‘ at 14:30 to 16:00 on 7 June, at Level 1, Olympia 2, Billing Systems 2006, London. For more information visit
