Postal Visionary Legend Elmar Toime joins the board at Blackbay
Leading industry figure joins Blackbay to drive mobile technology uptake within the supply chain sec

London, UK – 9 June 2006:- Blackbay, a market leader in delivering real-time mobile worker solutions that enable business process improvements to supply chain and field service mission-critical operations, today announced the appointment of world renowned postal sector advisor, Elmar Toime as a non-executive director.

Elmar has chosen to join forces with Blackbay as a result of the company’s repeatedly proven capabilities and market leading position and now aims to help the supply chain industry take advantage of the benefits offered by Blackbay’s mobile technology solutions.

Elmar is a well-known figure in the global postal industry and is the former Chairman of the Management Board of Royal Mail. He had group-wide responsibilities across Royal Mail and Post Office Ltd operations. In that period he was also Chairman of GLS, Royal Mail’s European parcel distribution business. From 1993 to 2003, Elmar was the CEO of New Zealand Post. Earlier this year, he was appointed to the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Post World Net.

Elmar will now be responsible for assisting in the development of Blackbay’s strategy in providing world class enterprise mobility solutions to customers within the supply chain industry and specifically, the postal sector. Elmar is also tasked with significantly increasing the installation of Blackbay solutions worldwide and helping customers take best advantage of the benefits of mobile technology.

Elmar commented of his decision, “Blackbay’s exceptional growth over the past few years is set to continue as we see a cross-industry focus on increasing flexibility and productivity with mobile data solutions. As a result it’s a very exciting time to join forces with the Blackbay team and I can think of no better company in this marketplace with which to be aligned”.

He went on to add, “The postal sector is one industry, obviously close to my heart, that stands to make massive customer service improvements with the correct adoption of mobile technology and the delivery of real time information. In the next few years I expect to see high levels of mobile technology adoption within this industry and I hope that my understanding of the sector’s drivers will assist Blackbay in being at the forefront of that trend”.

Avi Azulai, Blackbay’s Chairman said “We’re very proud to welcome such a well-respected, global industry leader as Elmar to our team. As Blackbay continues to focus on delivering excellence to our customers in the supply chain and field service sectors, his knowledge and experience will prove invaluable”.

As a director Elmar will work at board level alongside Avi Azulai, Larry Klimczyk, the managing director and Emil Gigov of Close Venture Management, which invested £3.5 million in Blackbay earlier this year.’
