Industria concludes strategic partnership with IPTV-Americas Landmark agreement set to deliver benefits of ground breaking Zignal IPTV solution to customers thro
Reykjavik – September 11, 2006 - Leading broadband solutions provider and systems integrator Industria today announced the conclusion of a strategic alliance with US-based integrated solutions provider IPTV-Americas, assigning the latter exclusive rights to sell the company’s groundbreaking Zignal IPTV services provisioning platform throughout Latin America.
Marking Industria’s entry into the emerging markets of Central and South America, the agreement will see the company provide all marketing and engineering support for IPTV-Americas customers using Zignal. Launched in March 2006, the solution has already been successfully deployed by Dublin-based triple-play services operator Magnet Entertainment to subscribers around Ireland. The product of intensive research and development has since roused considerable interest worldwide. A vendor-independent platform and suite of devices, Zignal has a major impact on the way in which both users and network owners view IPTV, bringing unprecedented levels of interactivity to users, while creating multiple revenue-generating opportunities for operators. Operating on a super-fast browser from Norwegian-based Opera Software, Zignal delivers a spectacular range of revenue-generating IPTV services accessible from a variety of standards-compliant digital media receivers, such as set-top boxes, remote controls, personal digital assistant, PCs, and smart mobile phones. Services include digital TV, video on demand, personal video recording, digital radio, home security and online gaming, all accessed through a readily customizable user interface. Ideal for deployment by all Tier One and Tier Two operators, Zignal is designed for ready connectivity with all leading network management and billing systems, without the need for costly and time-consuming replacements. IPTV-Americas was formed to facilitate the implementation of IPTV services in Latin America. The company’s founders have extensive experience in the development of the pay-TV industry in Latin America, including the launch and operation of PAS-1 in the region, the launch and distribution of several programming channels and the start-up of a number of cable operations. “We’re delighted to have formed this partnership with an operator of the standing of IPTV-Americas,” says Industria CEO, Gudjon Mar Gudjonsson. “Latin America is a market that we believe is set to grow significantly in the near future, and the agreement is indicative of the enthusiasm with which Zignal has been received by the industry worldwide.” “IPTV is rapidly emerging as the key technology that is transforming perceptions on how entertainment services are both delivered and consumed, and Zignal expands the concept of IPTV both in terms of the delivery media that the solution supports and the variety of services it can be used to provide.” “We are very pleased to be able to offer Industria’s Zignal Middleware as part of our first rate IPTV solution”, said Alvaro Gazzolo, CEO and President of IPTV Americas. “We are dedicated to giving our clients a complete and proven IPTV offering to facilitate their implementation of Triple Play services through existing networks.” Publisher Contact Information:
