European Patent Granted for OnRelay MBX
IP Protection Secures Future for British Innovation

London, 11 December 2007 – OnRelay today announced it has been granted a patent for its MBX software in Europe (Patent No 1374609) adding to existing patents in the United States, Singapore and Australia.

Granting of the patent protects the innovation that has made MBX the only known system that allows a mobile phone to completely replace a deskphone.

The MBX patent covers the fundamental MBX system architecture and all basic call flows of the MBX system, including its seamless routing of mobile calls in both directions via PBX systems.

“Protecting unique intellectual property is key to ensuring pioneering companies continue to develop new and innovative technology that brings value to customers. This is a key element in the environment that is driving the success of OnRelay in Europe. We already enjoy the benefits of being headquartered in one of the world’s leading centers for innovation in the fixed and mobile telecommunications industries. Technical experts from around the world combine with local developers and investors understand our industry and are prepared to support us,” commented OnRelay’s CEO Ivar Plahte.

“Moreover, businesses are prepared to look at new technology and deploy it for commercial advantages. Add to this practical and financial support from government and IP protection, and you can see why there are bright prospects for companies like OnRelay,” continued Plahte.

OnRelay recently secured Series D funding that will allow it to continue to develop and protect its intellectual property as well as support international expansion into North America and further into Europe and continue to invest heavily in maintaining product leadership.

The core of the MBX patent is OnRelay’s underlying Telephony Internetworking Protocol (TINP). TINP is based on end-to-end separation of telephony signaling and transport across multiple standards, operators, and network boundaries. TINP is a fundamentally new way of allowing mobile phones to seamlessly interconnect with PBX switches and corporate IP telephony servers on a global scale in an operator independent manner.
