Leeds, United Kingdom – Jan 2, 2008 – Science Warehouse Ltd, a leading provider of online trading and catalogue solutions, and the University of Cambridge, the leading UK research university, have entered an agreement for the provision of an e-procurement marketplace. Science Warehouse will provide a web-based solution fully integrated with the University’s Oracle iProcurement application. Andrew Gillies, Head of Purchasing at the University of Cambridge, said, “The University is fully committed to implementing e-procurement in support of its procurement strategy. The solution that we have selected, the best-in-class electronic marketplace from Science Warehouse integrated with Oracle iProcurement, will be delivered in a phased roll-out across the University. It will not only improve the purchasing process but will generate substantial benefits for end users.” Kerry Sykes, Deputy Director of Finance at the University said, “Science Warehouse met our requirements in terms of functionality and has an impressive track record of successful institution-wide implementation. This means that we will have rigorous and streamlined processes in place to manage spend across the University that will also deliver purchasing savings.” Commenting for Science Warehouse, Dr David Hames, Vice Chairman, said, “We look forward to working in close partnership with the University to ensure a highly successful roll-out of the electronic marketplace and the rapid delivery of benefits.
