Light Blue Optics opens U.S. operations

**New development facility in Colorado Springs increases engineering and business development capacity**

**New staff hires to accelerate product development of miniature projection systems towards high-volume manufacture**

Cambridge, UK, 4 Jan 2008 -- Light Blue Optics (LBO), the industry-leading developer of holographic laser projection technology, today announced the opening of its U.S. Operations with an Engineering and Business Development facility in Colorado Springs, CO. The news follows LBO’s closure of a $26 million Series A funding round in October 2007 and will further accelerate the Company’s product development and commercialisation programme to bring its miniature projection systems to high-volume markets.

Dr. David Bolt recently joined LBO as the VP of Engineering, responsible for all product engineering activities within LBO, and is based in the Colorado Springs development facility. Having previously worked for Philips Electronics and Plasmon, Dave brings with him 20 years of experience in working with global partners and managing large, multi-disciplinary teams of engineers to deliver world-class electro-optic products into volume production. Dave added, “I am very excited to be joining LBO to lead the product development activities of the Group. LBO has exciting and unique technology and we have quickly managed to recruit a highly experienced development team in Colorado that I believe can deliver our product roadmap to high-volume market.'

As part of the Company’s reorganisation for growth, LBO’s Director of Business Development, Dr. Edward Buckley, is promoted to VP of Business Development. Based in the Colorado Springs Development Facility, Dr. Buckley will be responsible for all business development activities in North America and Asia. Dr. Buckley explained, “My relocation is in response to our customers’ requirements and will strengthen LBO’s ability to build strategic relationships and key development partnerships across North America and Asia.”

Light Blue Optics' CEO, Dr. Chris Harris said, “Our new engineering and business development operations in Colorado Springs bring great additional strength to the Group, enabling us to better support our customers in North America and execute our fast-paced product roadmap. The Colorado-based engineering team complements our U.K. facility in Cambridge, which remains the centre for innovation, new product concepts and European business development. The establishment of LBO’s U.S. Operations is a critical step in the development of the Company and we are now well positioned to deliver on our vision of becoming the world’s leading supplier of miniature projection systems.”

LBO will be demonstrating its latest miniature projection systems at CES 08 to customers, development partners and invited media from Monday 7th January until Thursday 10th January.
