Who We Are

Tornado Insider, founded in 2015, is a grassroots political organization committed to fostering accountable, transparent, and responsive governance that promotes inclusivity, justice, and equity. Through various initiatives such as supporting public office candidates, addressing critical issues, conducting public education campaigns, and engaging voters, we strive to empower individuals and communities to actively participate in shaping their political landscape.

Our efforts span a wide range of activities aimed at promoting civic engagement and social justice. We have canvassed extensively across the city to encourage participation in local elections, ensuring that voices from all segments of society are heard and represented. In response to instances of violence and discrimination, we have organized anti-violence rallies and vigils, providing support and solidarity to victims and communities affected by acts of hatred.

In the wake of pivotal elections, we have spearheaded rallies to foster an environment conducive to civic engagement, encouraging citizens to take an active role in shaping the future of their communities. Additionally, we have extended our support to marginalized groups, including transgender students, by advocating for their rights and providing assistance when needed.

Collaborating with political parties and advocacy groups, we strive to raise awareness about important issues such as universal healthcare and single-payer options, advocating for policies that prioritize the well-being of all individuals. Through our robust online presence, we provide a platform for progressive activists to connect and mobilize for positive change.

Furthermore, we engage in ongoing lobbying efforts at the local, county, and federal levels, advocating for legislation that strengthens oppressed and black communities. We also actively promote solidarity with like-minded organizations and individuals who share our commitment to social progress and environmental stewardship.

From providing speakers in support of teachers to hosting monthly discussions on pressing issues, we continuously seek to broaden community education and awareness. Our dedication to enacting positive change is further evidenced by our work on local ordinances and initiatives such as the Black Justice Project, aimed at addressing systemic inequalities and advancing racial justice.
